Closing the Gap, Building the Future
Our teachers have bright classrooms for developing curious minds, our students enjoy stimulating playgrounds, our staff will never have to bring home laundry again, and community demand for quality child care is strong and growing. But our work at GC4 is far from over. We must achieve financial stability and reach full capacity within the next year to stay afloat, and continued short-term investment will be crucial to get us over the hump.
Other Iowa child care centers have started strong, only to struggle when state grants or local tax incentives dried up. Let’s show that Hancock County is serious about a thriving local economy and investing in workforce readiness for businesses, employees, and families.
Fundraising Goal: $180,000
We completed the capital expansion project within budget, but now that the dust has settled, we still need to close a $180,000 gap for some additional expenses, including architecture fees and site acquisition costs. If you already donated, please consider extending your commitment for another 1–2 years. This bridge in funding will help help us reach financial sustainability, when revenue from tuition will fully cover our operating expenses.

Project Timeline
Our goal is to begin construction in Summer 2025 and start serving children in the new facility by March 2026. Over 3 years, we will steadily hire new staff members and grow membership to achieve maximum enrollment by 2028. Please see the estimated timeline below – all dates are subject to change due to construction or other unforeseen delays.
