Weiland Farms makes $25,000 investment in the future of GC4

Led by GC4 Chairman of the Board of Directors, Weiland Farms is a long-time supporter of our mission!

We’re delighted to share that Weiland Farms has made a generous gift of $25,000 to Garner Community Christian Child Care. The investment will help support the expansion of GC4 and the construction of our new state-of-the-art center near GHV high school in Garner.

For more than six generations, the Weiland family has been committed stewards of farmland in north-central Iowa. Applying core sustainability principles, they work to ensure that the land thrives and remains capable of producing the highest quality food, fuel, and fiber for the long haul. Today, Weiland’s activities include farmland investment, agriculture innovation, crop production, and land management for more than 65 land owners across 7 counties.

Weiland Farms is a pillar in the Garner community, and has long supported child care expansion. Weiland Farms’ Managing Partner Reid Weiland is also the Chairman of the GC4 Board of Directors.

Speaking about the Weiland Farms investment, Weiland said, “People often ask me, ‘What is the deal with childcare? How did this become a passion of yours? Aren't you a farmer?!?’ My response is that it's not childcare, it's the community.  How can we support the legacy handed down to us?  How can we polish Garner, the jewel of the crown of Iowa for the next generation?"

We’re grateful to the Weiland family and GC4 Board Chairman Reid Weiland for his longtime financial and strategic support of GC4. For their contribution, Weiland Farms will be listed as a Patron on our donor wall, and an outdoor bench will be dedicated in their honor.
